How LOOP works for your family

For homeschool families. Schools: see the Student data page.

Your children work on paper. You print each child's practice sheet, they do it with a pencil, and you scan it back. They don't use a screen for LOOP.

Only a picture of one answer box goes to the AI company, and never your child's name. To read a handwritten number, LOOP sends a picture of that single box to Anthropic, the company that makes the AI. No name and no other detail goes with it, and Anthropic doesn't use it to train its AI. Anthropic keeps it for up to 30 days. Whether an answer is right comes from the answer key, not the AI.

Pictures are deleted within days. A picture of an answer that did not need checking, and the scanned page, are usually deleted 3 days after scoring, and never kept longer than 7 days. A picture of an answer LOOP needs a person to look at, and the few answers checked at random, are kept for a person to check, and never kept longer than 7 days. A page that could not be read is deleted 7 days after you scan it. The scanned pages are stored with Cloudflare, in the United States.

Paying. Your card is entered on Stripe's page, never on LOOP's. Stripe sees your email address, your card and how many children you have, and nothing else: never their names or their work. Stripe emails you its own receipts. The first month is free, and LOOP emails you 7 days before the first charge. You can cancel or change your card any time on Stripe's page, through "Manage billing" on LOOP's home and print pages. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and you can print until then.

One family account per email. If you sign up again with an address that already has a family account, LOOP doesn't open a second one. It asks you to sign in and manage the one you have.

Signing in. LOOP emails you a sign-in link; there is no password. Your account is your email address, so anyone who can read that inbox can sign in. Don't forward LOOP's emails. LOOP's emails are sent through Resend. For sign-in links Resend sees only your email address. For the weekly family summary, which you can turn off, Resend also sees each child's first name, grade, what they practised, their scores and the week's mistake, never their handwriting or scans. Weekly emails already sent stay in your inbox, and our email provider, Resend, keeps its copy for 30 days, plus up to 7 days in backups.

The LOOP phone app. You can also send pages from the LOOP app on your iPhone. You photograph the pages with the phone's camera or pick them from your photo library, and the app sends them to LOOP the same way a scan is sent; they are then read and deleted as described above, including the picture of each answer box sent to Anthropic to read the answer. Before your first upload the app asks your permission to send those pictures to Anthropic. To sign in on the app, LOOP's sign-in email also carries a 6-digit code, which you type into the app; the code works once, and only the newest one works. The app keeps you signed in for 30 days by storing a sign-in token in your iPhone's Keychain, and signing out removes it. The app reaches only your own family's pages, and it has no ads and no analytics.

If you stop paying. Printing new sheets pauses, and everything already done stays visible. Your children's work is deleted 90 days after your last payment. If you never paid, it is deleted 90 days after your free month ends. LOOP emails you first, at least 15 days before. LOOP has no download or export. The only way to keep the work is to subscribe again before that date.

You can ask for everything to be deleted at any time. Email support@looplearning.org. LOOP cancels your subscription right away, so you aren't charged again, and deletes your family's records and pictures within 7 days of your email. Payments already made aren't refunded.

LOOP's results are for practice only. They aren't grades or tests.

Who sees it. You do. The person who runs LOOP (LOOP's operator) can see it to fix problems. Your family's records are never joined with a school's, even if a child is in both.

One month. One or two classrooms. Free.
